But two days back, in an English news channel, two cricket fans were so emotionally speaking about that day's match and our national team's performance. I did not know that there had been a match that day, so I went and checked, and it was a warm up match leading to this year's world cup. I do not know why, but I felt it was silly.
Today, our prime minister was giving an interview to the electronic media. This was his first interview after the news about the big scams (2G, 4G, etc) broke out. A senior editor from a news channel (channel 24 i guess) asks him a question. "Sir, who do you think will win this cricket world cup and who is your favorite player?"!! It was disgusting.
Everyone around me is talking about cricket world cup, but I get irritated to even listen to them.
There is a cricket team from a country called Zimbabwe. It was banned from playing international cricket because of its racist attitude, some years ago. But now, a nation, which has been accused of racialism and has been accused of massacring its own people, conducts the very cricket world cup. Why this discrimination?
We can easily find the reason. Nowadays, I see cricket more as an entertainment and business than a game. And India is the monetary powerhouse, which the ICC really needs now to run its business. And India supports Srilanka. Its as simple as that.
No one can persuade anyone and infuse a change in their mindset. It should come from within. So think, and avoid watching this cricket world cup.

Ya, you are correct..
ReplyDelete1) Very very silly question to be asked to a Prime Minister, when there are hot topics/questions to be discussed in an interview.
No body expects the thoughts from the Prime Minister of a country that, who would win world cup this year and about his favorite player
2) Cricket became good business than a game and the recent cheating case by Lalit Modi is a proof for that.
Thanks for the comments buddy :)
